About Hearing Pages

Conservatively speaking, at least 10% of the population experience hearing loss, and its affecting those of us over 45 years of age. According to the Deaf Action Center, out of the 25 million Americans who need hearing aids, only one in five actually use one.

The other 80% experience the effects of hearing loss and risk long-term negative consequences of auditory deprivation, which is the reduction of nerve function due to inadequate stimulation.

Hearing Pages is a new website that seeks to address this problem by bringing all members of the hearing community - including patients, clinics, and manufacturers as well as professional and consumer support organizations - together on one single website for the first time. The site takes a intuitive community approach and includes tools to benefit visitors from all areas of the hearing loss community.
